The NOVUS 850 is an 8-digit
calculator with a 9-digit LED display
and a nice golden look. The leftmost
digit is used to indicate negative numbers and an error condition by displaying "E".
It can perform the four basic functions, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. When switching it on it is not automatically reset but sometimes ends up in a peculiar state, press CE/C to reset. See also the National Semiconductor 850 which only has a different case. There is an article about this calculator on the National Museum of American History website here (link validated 2025-12-06). |
